The cast combines Hwang Jeong-min, Cho In-seong and Jung Ho-yeon with Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander. Gathering Korean and international actors together mirrors the story's direction, in which what happens in one village expands beyond it. Hwang Jeong-min appeared in '12.12: The Day' and Michael Fassbender in 'Black Bag', and one way to watch is to see how each portrays a character pushed to extremes this time, compared with those earlier works.
The running time is 156 minutes, produced by Westworld Story and distributed by Plus M Entertainment and Vertigo Média. It has been available by subscription on TVING since October 8, 2026, so even those who missed it in theaters can follow the long runtime at home.
What to watch for
- 01
With firefighting pulling away support personnel and communications cut off, the village is completely isolated, which becomes the starting point of the tension.
- 02
The story unfolds on two tracks: 'Beom-seok' and 'Seong-ae', who protect the village, and 'Seong-gi' and the young men who head into the mountain and instead become the hunted.
- 03
The premise that ignorance and differing positions become the seeds of tragedy shows that this film is not just a simple monster chase.
This film suits viewers who want to enjoy an isolated-space thriller and sci-fi-scale storytelling together in one film.
